چکیده

In this paper, we provide an efficient solution for periodic real-time tasks with (potentially) different power consumption characteristics. We show that, a task T, can run a t a constant speed 5';. at every instance without hurting optimality. We sketch an O(n2 log n) algorithm to compute the optimal S;. values. We also prove that the EDF (Earliest Deadline First) scheduling policy can be used to obtain a feasible schedule with these optimal speed values.

A Dynamic Voltage Scaling Algorithm for Sporadic Tasks

Dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) algorithms save energy by scaling down the processor frequency when the processor is not fully loaded. Many algorithms have been proposed for periodic and aperiodic task models but none support the canonical sporadic task model. A DVS algorithm, called DVSST, is presented that can be used with sporadic tasks in conjunction with preemptive EDF scheduling. The algori...

Performance Sensitive Power Aware Multiprocessor Scheduling in Real-time Systems

Multiprocessor environment is used for processor intensive real-time applications, where tasks are assigned to processor subject to some pre-defined criteria such as CPU load. Conventionally, real-time systems are paying attention on periodic task models, in which tasks are released at regular time periods. On the other hand, with maturity of multiprocessor structural design, today most real-ti...

Precise Schedulability Analysis for unfeasible to notify separately for comprehensive - EDF Scheduling of interrupted Hard Real-Time Tasks on the similar Multiprocessors

In Real-time system, utilization based schedulability test is a common approach to determine whether or not tasks can be admitted without violating deadline requirements. The exact problem has previously been proven intractable even upon single processors; sufficient conditions are presented here for determining whether a given periodic task system will meet all deadlines if scheduled non-preem...

Computing Static Slowdown Factors under EDF Scheduling when Deadline less than Period

Slowdown factors determine the extent of slowdown a computing system can experience based on functional and performance requirements. Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS) of a processor based on slowdown factors can lead to considerable energy savings. This paper describes computation of slowdown factor for a task set with an underlying dynamic priority scheduler such as Earliest Deadline First (EDF) ...

Dynamic Scheduling of Skippable Periodic Tasks with Energy Efficiency in Weakly Hard Real-Time System

Energy consumption is a critical design issue in real-time systems, especially in batteryoperated systems. Maintaining high performance, while extending the battery life between charges is an interesting challenge for system designers. Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS) allows a processor to dynamically change speed and voltage at run time, thereby saving energy by spreading run cycles into idle tim...
